March 3rd 2026 Project Update

Over the last few months, myself, Fallin resident Billy Hodgson and Nikki Thomas from Fallin Community Garden, have held several meetings with Council officer Roz Smith who is the Council’s Team Leader for Strategic Energy. Also in attendance at these meetings were the following people who have given us incredible support which has helped us to take the project to the next stage:

• Kaye Keenan from BE-ST, which is Scotland’s innovation centre for construction and the built environment.
• Dr Graeme Hunt, Research Fellow (Systems Power & Energy) at James Watt School of Engineering
• Professor Gioia Falcone, Rankine Chair of Energy Engineering (Systems Power & Energy) at James Watt School of Engineering
• Sam Ahmadzadeh, Net Zero Researcher @ CeNZ-HighDB

The work we have all put into this project has helped us deliver on the £50,000 funding that was agreed in last week’s Stirling Council Budget, which will in turn unlock £100,000 funding from The Centre for Net Zero High Density Buildings (CeNZ‑HighDB).

We will provide updates here and also monthly updates to Fallin Community Voice who are the local community group behind this very exciting project.
